Alok Kantha
Everest Global has partnered with the Alok Kantha project, a unique initiative by The Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust (BANCAT), which revives the cherished craft of hand-stitched home textiles using discarded sarees.
Alok Kantha is a heartfelt response to the challenges faced by many underprivileged communities, particularly those battling illnesses such as cancer. The making of these kanthas is a collective effort. Women from different communities come together to handcraft home textiles, stitching with meticulous care and creativity that connects tradition, sustainability, and compassion.
While promoting utility and beauty, these creations inspire us to rethink waste, value human connections, and extend a helping hand to those in need.
